Mathematics Curriculum Overview
Students build a strong understanding of numbers and explore how numerical concepts apply to everyday situations. They use their knowledge of numbers and operations to solve real-world mathematical challenges.
🧩 Algebra
Students explore, describe, extend, and create various patterns—including those found in daily life—and use these patterns to make predictions. They deepen their understanding of variables, expressions, equations, and inequalities, applying this knowledge across diverse contexts. Using coding concepts and skills, students solve problems and model mathematical scenarios computationally. They also use mathematical modeling to represent, analyze, and predict outcomes, gaining insight into authentic situations.
📊 Data
Students collect, analyze, and interpret data to support convincing arguments and make informed decisions, drawing on real-life applications. They assess the probability of events and use this to guide predictions and reasoning.
📐 Spatial Sense
Students describe and represent shapes, positions, and movements using geometric properties and spatial relationships, helping them navigate and understand their environment. They engage in comparison, estimation, and measurement across varied real-world contexts.
💰 Financial Literacy
Students acquire essential knowledge and skills to make responsible and informed financial decisions.
🧠 Social-Emotional Learning & Mathematical Processes
Students thoughtfully apply social-emotional learning skills to support their engagement with mathematical processes and strengthen their learning across the five key strands of the curriculum.
